Overview
This half-day Bali experience introduces the rural charm and authentic culinary traditions of the island in the peaceful surroundings of Batu Sepih Village. The program combines a scenic village walk with a hands-on Balinese cooking class, offering guests the opportunity to experience daily life in a traditional countryside community.
The journey begins with a gentle walking tour through rural pathways, rice fields, and traditional village compounds. Along the way, you will pass small temples and observe the layout of Balinese family compounds while learning about local customs and village life. This relaxed walk allows you to experience the quiet atmosphere of Bali’s countryside far from the busy tourist areas.
After the walk, the experience continues in a traditional village kitchen where local hosts will introduce you to the art of Balinese cooking. Here, you will learn about the herbs and spices that create the distinctive flavors of Balinese cuisine and how they are traditionally prepared.
During the cooking class, you will learn how to grind, mix, and prepare traditional spices using authentic techniques. Under the guidance of local instructors, you will cook several classic Balinese dishes such as sate lilit, sate tusuk, lawar, pepesan tum, and gerangasem. Each dish highlights the balance of herbs, spices, and fresh ingredients that define the island’s culinary heritage.
Once the cooking session is completed, guests will enjoy the dishes they have prepared while relaxing in a beautiful outdoor setting surrounded by rice paddies.
