Overview
Balinese Offering Workshop in Ubud: Learn, Create, and Connect - Imagine stepping into a peaceful, aromatic workshop in the heart of Ubud, surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature.
The tour begins with a
warm welcome at a traditional Balinese home. Here, you’ll be introduced to the Tri Hita Karana philosophy and the important role offerings play in the
spiritual life of the Balinese people.
Your experience starts
with a visit to a local traditional market, where you'll join your host in
selecting materials such as busung (young coconut leaves), flowers, and fresh
fruits—essential items for creating Canang Sari and Gebogan. This is a great
opportunity to see how locals shop for ritual needs and to immerse yourself in
the daily rhythm of Balinese life.
Next, you'll learn how to
craft Canang Sari, the small daily offering typically placed at home
entrances or temples. Using palm leaves, colorful flowers, and incense, you’ll
be guided through each step while discovering the meaning behind every element.
Then, you'll move on to
creating Gebogan—a tall, decorative offering made from stacked fruits and
flowers, usually carried to temples during major ceremonies. You’ll try
assembling one yourself and experience both the challenge and the beauty of
this sacred ritual.
