Discover the UNESCO-listed Jatiluwih Rice Terraces and the sacred, secluded Batukaru Temple on this immersive Bali journey. Designed for nature lovers and culture seekers, this tour takes you deep into Bali’s spiritual highlands, where dramatic landscapes and time-honored traditions await. Along the way, your guide will share stories about Balinese farming, cultural traditions, and the spiritual significance of each place you visit. With rich natural scenery, cultural depth, and sacred energy, this tour offers an unforgettable glimpse into the soul of rural Bali. Your experience begins at Jatiluwih, a breathtaking rice terrace landscape recognized by UNESCO for its ancient subak irrigation system. Sprawling across the foothills of Mount Batukaru, these rice fields stretch endlessly into the horizon—showcasing centuries of harmonious farming practices between people and nature. You’ll have time to walk along the terraces, take stunning photos, and enjoy lunch with a view at a local restaurant (personal expense). From here, you’ll journey higher into the misty forests of Mount Batukaru, where the sacred Luhur Batukaru Temple awaits. Unlike Bali’s popular temples, Batukaru remains one of the island’s most hidden and untouched spiritual sites, known for its serene mountain setting, cool climate, and mystical silence. Surrounded by dense jungle and often cloaked in mist, the temple offers a deeply meditative and introspective experience. Its location on the slopes of a dormant volcano makes it uniquely sacred, symbolizing the balance between mountain energy (kaja) and human life below.

In the fertile volcanic foothills of Batukaru Mountains you'll see an abundance of tropical fruits, spices, vegetables and flowers. It is no wonder that the community here is considered Bali's farming elite. For the Balinese, cultivation of land is a creative art and a communal effort, and the people of Jatiluwih have created a true masterpiece - an endless and intricate jigsaw of finely curved rice terraces in brilliant shades of green, with glistening waters, so soothing to the eye.
