Most first-time visitors benefit from at least five to seven days in Bali, but the right length depends on how many regions you want to explore. Travel times make a focused itinerary more rewarding than a long checklist.

Three days
Choose one base. From Ubud, focus on culture, a temple, and the surrounding region. From southern Bali, combine a coastal area with one cultural or marine activity.
Five days

Use two complementary areas or one base with carefully selected day trips. A central-and-south combination provides cultural and coastal contrast without changing hotels constantly.
Seven days
A week allows a balanced first visit: several days inland, several near the coast, and one flexible day for weather or rest. Nusa Penida requires realistic transfer planning and suitable marine conditions.
Ten to fourteen days

Add East, North, or West Bali at a slower pace. Avoid trying to cover all three. Labuan Bajo is a separate journey involving flights and should not be treated as a Bali day trip.
Whatever the length, group activities geographically, protect arrival and departure days, and leave space between major excursions. A good itinerary is measured by the quality of each day, not the number of pins on a map.
