Overview
This full-day Bali tour explores the cultural and spiritual highlights of East Bali, starting from Kertha Gosa, continuing to Besakih Temple, enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, and ending at Tenganan Village. The itinerary is carefully arranged to combine history, spirituality, authentic cuisine, and traditional village life in one seamless journey.
The tour begins at Kertha Gosa in Klungkung. This historic pavilion was once part of the royal palace complex and functioned as a traditional court of justice. Inside the Bale Kambang pavilion, you will see detailed ceiling paintings that illustrate moral law, karma, and traditional Balinese judicial principles. Therefore, Kertha Gosa offers valuable insight into Bali’s royal heritage and artistic storytelling.
Next, the Bali tour continues to Besakih Temple, also known as the Besakih Great Temple. Located on the slopes of Mount Agung, this is the largest and most sacred temple complex on the island. Here, you will explore the main temple courtyard while learning about Balinese Hindu philosophy, temple orientation, and ceremonial traditions. In addition, the elevated setting offers panoramic views of surrounding valleys and Mount Agung, creating a peaceful yet majestic atmosphere.
After visiting Besakih Temple, you will enjoy lunch at a selected local restaurant in East Bali. The restaurant serves authentic Indonesian and Balinese dishes in a relaxed setting. This lunch stop allows you to rest and recharge before continuing the cultural exploration. Moreover, it provides an opportunity to experience local flavors as part of your Bali tour.
In the afternoon, the journey proceeds to Tenganan Village, one of Bali’s oldest indigenous villages. Tenganan is home to the Bali Aga community, which preserves ancient customs that predate Majapahit influence. As you walk through the village, you will see traditional house compounds and learn about the famous Geringsing double ikat weaving. Consequently, this visit offers a rare glimpse into Bali’s original cultural traditions.
